Have Mercy
Weak At The Knees Chords
Standard tuning
Chords used: D/F#, G, F#m
I know Have Mercy plays in open D tuning, but this is an easy way of playing it in standard and it sounds just
fine. You can play the D as a regular open D chord if you choose, but as I've played the song more, I think
adding the F# in the bass by placing your thumb on the second fret sounds better. Enjoy!
D/F# G
I called you up, just where have you been
D/F# G
I'm just waiting for our lives to begin
D/F# G
No one wants you the way that I want you
D/F#
When no one wants you
G
Can you say you want me too?
Interlude: D/F#, G
D/F# G
Why won't she go home?
D/F# G
I have you on the other telephone.
D/F# G
Cause no one, no one can do the things you do
D/F# G
And say the three words that I just want you to
D/F# G D/F#
Cause I need you
D/F# G D/F#
Yeah I need you
F#m G D/F#
We laughed in the sun, we laid in the grass
F#m G D/F#
I felt your earth pushing back, it pushed back
F#m G
What you don't know, don't know
D/F#
Is you're gone and I'm home
F#m G
But I'm all alone
D/F#
And everybody who knows what comes after
Interlude: F#m, G, D/F#
F#m G D/F#
We laughed in the sun, we laid in the grass
F#m G D/F#
I felt your earth pushing back, it pushed back
F#m G
What you don't know, don't know
D/F#
Is you're gone and I'm home
F#m G
But I'm all alone
D/F#
And everybody swung from the rafters
F#m G D/F#
I want you weak at the knees (x4)
